Your autumn holiday starts at Wereldmuseum Amsterdam

Be amazed this autumn holiday at Wereldmuseum Amsterdam. Take part in one of the many activities in the interactive exhibition Raad van de Raaf. In Kuluk's kitchen, you'll cook the most delicious dishes and snacks, or join a museum educator who will guide you through the exhibition. In the Light Hall, you can create a poster with your own message for the climate. Check out the full program below.

Please note: from October 13 to 17, Raad van de Raaf opens at 12:00 PM. On weekends and from October 20 to 24, Raad van de Raaf is open all day.

Worldwide festivities: Make Mexican Calaveras for Día de Muertos

Practice metalworking and create your own skull from tin. During Día de Muertos, you’ll see colorful skulls and skeletons everywhere—these are called calaveras. They appear on graves, in homes, and on altars. They’re part of the celebration and symbolize that there is life after death. Want to make something yourself for Día de Muertos? Come to Wereldmuseum Amsterdam and craft your own tin calaveras.

Story Time

Especially for the little ones, we’ll be reading stories every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Raad van de Raaf.

Cooking with Kuluk

Delicious smells await in the Greenlandic Kuluk’s kitchen. Together with a museum educator, you'll make Romkugler (cake balls from leftover cake) or Village Soup using seasonal vegetables.

For: children aged 6 and up
Time: 12:00 – 1:00 PM
Dates: October 16, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, and 26
Price: €2.50, excluding museum ticket

Raad van de Raaf Tour

Explore the Raad van de Raaf exhibition with a museum educator who will guide you and share fascinating stories! After the tour, join either the Greenlandic Cake cooking workshop or a Create Your Own (Action) Poster workshop.

For: children aged 6 and up
Time: daily from 3:00 – 3:45 PM. Also on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:30 – 2:15 PM.

Workshop: Create Your Own Poster for the Planet

The Raad van de Raaf is made up of children taking action for the climate. Do you have a great idea for how we can take better care of the Earth? This is your chance to create a poster with your message! Get inspired by the Raad van de Raaf exhibition and get creative.

For: children aged 6 and up

Looking for a deeper experience? Join one of our drop-in guided tours! Every day, you can learn more about our exhibitions with one of our museum educators. The tour includes one or more exhibitions. Ask at the ticket desk or information desk on the day of your visit to find out the topic.
