Practise metalworking and make your own tin skull. During Día de Muertos, you see colourful skulls and skeletons everywhere. These are called calaveras. You can see them on graves, in homes and on altars. They are part of the celebration and show that there is life after death.
During the autumn holidays, you can also make your own papel picado. Papel picado means ‘perforated coloured paper’. These are colourful flags and garlands decorated with cut-out patterns of flowers, bones and skulls.
