The exhibition focuses on the work of 16 talented photographers from World Press Photo’s African Photojournalism Database. The photographers from various countries in Africa each reveal the diversity of the continent in their own way. Based on such diverse themes such as reconstruction, urbanisation, war, birth and gender equality, the exhibition tells the very human and curiosity-arousing story of both the photographer and the photographed.

The opening video
We would have liked to invite you to a physical opening, but we decided it would have been too restrictive without a corona access pass. Instead, we present this video to provide you with an impression of the exhibition. In the video, moderator Ama van Dantzig talks to Joumana el Zein Khoury, the director of World Press Photo, and Wayne Modest, the director of content of the National Museum of World Cultures. Together they will guide you through the exhibition.
