- Lecture/Performance
- #Think along
Through this event, Perin shares the research behind his latest work and his engagement with the Wereldmuseum’s photography and material collections. Departing from Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, his project brings together art history, popular culture and Afro-diasporic spiritual traditions. This broad range of sources shapes a journey through time and place, were he inquires how ideas about male body, power and race have shaped the way we see ourselves and others.
This is an event to experience with both body and mind, a journey that will take us through recordings, notes, images, places, peoples and emotion’s that have become part of Perin’s own inquiry to what it means to be a man. And, as the journey unfolds, we will get an insight into how his inquiry becomes shape, color and form in his drawings, paintings and performances.
Together with the Curator of Photography, Valeria Posada-Villada, Perin will invite the audience into an open space for conversation, movement and play, where questions will lead to unexpected answers.
