In this edition, we pause to reflect on what dignity means in times of geopolitical pressure and social rupture. Drawing on the experiences of Iranian communities, in Iran and across the diaspora, we explore how the longing for recognition, freedom, and the right to exist endures, even when systems begin to falter.
Iranian communities, both in Iran and in diaspora, carry a deep desire for freedom, recognition, and the right to exist. Their stories speak of loss and fracture, but also of courage, gentleness, and resilience. Dignity means remaining visible, continuing to speak, and standing firm, even when that requires courage.
The longing for dignity is not a fleeting moment, but an ongoing process. It lives in bodies, in voices, and in choices. In not disappearing, not hardening, and not breaking.
This longing forms a connecting thread between people, across borders and generations. As an inner compass, it points toward justice, belonging, and a shared imagination of peace.
